The Great Outdoors!

After a long, cold winter we have finally emerged for a warm weather week and got our first glimpses of Spring. We took advantage of the warm weather this week and spent it outside as much as possible.

We took our lunch to the park on Tuesday and then played on the playground for about an hour before heading back to the house for naps. After naps we went to the driveway and played for another couple of hours, with the balls, riding bikes and just hanging out! It was alot of fun and the kids loved it!

Over the next couple of days we spent a few minutes outside as it started to get chillier! Today, we have camped out in the house due to the blizzard going on out there, but have had fun making Valentines and decorating heart shaped sugar cookies for snack!

Below are some pictures of our outside adventures this week! Enjoy.

What's New!

I know that I have been behind since my computer crashed in Dec. on giving you all a newsletter and updating a calendar for you all to have. We have been staying busy singing, dancing, rhyming, reading and playing games. We have been very into board games lately and one of our favorites is the Storybook game. It is a bunch of flashcards and each person takes a turn drawing a card and then they have to make up a story about that card. It gets funnier as it goes on because you put the cards together so the stories should keep going from kid to kid. The kids are getting very creative. I love this game and it's so good for them to build their creative thinking skills and to be able to learn connections between different objects. The kids get very excited about this one.
We have also been working on our letters and numbers and shapes. January we worked on the letters M, N, O, and P and the numbers 10, 11, 12, and 13. The shape of the month was the square and the color of the month was blue. We missed our blue day, so I will be having that probably next week, but I'll update you soon. We will have a Valentines Day party on Friday the 13th of Feb. and that will be our pink day, so keep that in mind. If your child does not have something pink to wear, as my boys don't, then we can make a sign out of pink construction paper to safety pin to their shirts.

This month we will be working on more letters and numbers and the theme of the month is friendship. So we are working on building friendships and how to treat our friends.

Below is a few pictures of things we've been up to. Enjoy! I look forward to more fun this month.
The boys working hard on a block tower!
Our water painting experience!
Our finished water color masterpieces!
New friends, Matt and Malia playing together!

Weekly News!

Just as a note, we will be having a pajama day on Thursday Jan. 22! Wear your favorite pj's, slippers, robe, what have you and be prepared to watch movies, eat some popcorn and have a good old fashioned slumber party...ALL DAY!
I'm going to break out my favorite pj's and take lots of fun pictures.
Next week, probably Wednesday, we will have blue day. So find your favorite blue shirt to wear so we can take some pictures and learn all about the color BLUE.
Have a great night. I'll see you all in the morning.

Back on Track!

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone had wonderful holidays and enjoyed all the time off! Of course December is always a crazy month for everyone, including our house. We spent a lot of time in December playing freely and not doing many worksheets or crafty stuff. We did however stay on track with our colors, shapes, and letters, we just did it with flashcards, pictures, and playing hands on in the playroom. Our favorite thing to do in December was to play with the jumbo Lego's. They have always been in the playroom, but have been a renewed enjoyment for everyone. So much so that we ended up asking grandparents for more jumbo Lego's for Christmas because we were fighting over the ones we already had. Hopefully that will alleviate some of the fights amongst us!

Since my last update we have taken a few more pictures which I will post today! I know how everyone loves pictures!

Also, as we all know my computer is on the fritz, but I am picking it up today actually so I can get all of my hard drive stuff off of it so I can get back on track. I've been lost without my computer! We've been told that the problem is mostly fixed but that the computer is running SO slowly that we are recommended to start shopping for a new one. So that is what we will be doing soon. So thank you for hanging in there with me while I've been a little unorganized this last month with the loss of my computer and kids being sick and in and out of daycare. Winter always kind of throws everything a bit off!

We are slowly but surely getting back on track this month. By the end of the month we should be back into a good routine of our learning and schedule! It takes a bit of time for everyone to sort of recover from Christmas.

I will update you with all of the information for the month this coming up week. Our birthdays this month was Jared on Jan. 5 turned 3 and Skyann on Jan. 31 turns 4!!! Happy Birthday kiddos.

Enjoy the weekend and the pictures below!

Christmas Party Time!

Well, after a nasty bout of the flu in the house we are all working through a bit of a cold. Hopefully when this passes we will all be able to stay well for awhile! Due to the illnesses over the last couple of weeks and kids being in and out of health and my house, we have sort of had a FREE month this month. We have done a lot of free play, singing and dancing, and building with blocks to make as tall of towers as we can! It's been fun and very laid back.
Hopefully I'll get MY computer back very soon, and I will have all of my daycare stuff on it in order to get back on our schedule. I also promise that as soon as I get my computer back I will download some pictures for your enjoyment.
Reminder that I will be closed Christmas Eve at 4pm, Christmas Day and Friday after Christmas. No payment is due for any day except for Christmas Day.
Also, this Friday, Dec. 19, will be our Christmas Party and our green day. Please wear something green so we can take our group picture. Our party will consist of some cookies, crafts, movies, books, and carolling! Fun Fun!
Have a great night and I will see you all very soon.

Computer Update!

As you all know, last week my computer crashed and I have been using a loaner computer. Though I can access the Internet now and do a few things, I don't have any of my daycare documents or a printer so I am still a little behind. I am hoping to have my computer back maybe next weekend sometime!
In the meantime, I will not have much printables for the kids or have my December newsletter for you for awhile.
We have been doing alot over the last few weeks. We have also been gearing up for the Holiday season and had a lot of fun during our Thanksgiving day Party.
I will try and keep you all posted about our Christmas party and color days for this month and hopefully can have something with more detail to you later this week.

As a note, I AM open on Christmas Eve, so fees will be still be owed. If you will not be here and you want to use a vacation day for that day, that's fine, I just need to know at least a week in advance. Payment is due for Christmas day like it was Thanksgiving day. These are the only two paid Holidays I take during the year. I will be closed Christmas Day, Dec. 25 - Sunday Dec. 28. You do NOT owe anything for Friday the 26th, that will be one of my vacation days. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding paid holidays or anything else.

I hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving break and I will see you all on Monday to get back to the grind stone for a few weeks!

Halloween party!

Sorry that this post finds us almost a week post Halloween, but there has been no time to get on the computer for extended periods of time. I apologize.
We had a great Halloween party in my opinion. We had fun coloring, painting, dressing up, and celebrating Alex's third birthday!

We had Halloween treat bags provided by Alex and Matt's mommy, which we appreciate. Thank you. So below I have posted all of the pictures of our day. Please enjoy as there were quite a few to choose from, so I just used them all! I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween. Happy Birthday to Mila who just turned two on the 28th of Oct. and to Alex who just turned three on the 1st of November!
